READING READINESS
An important part of developing pre-reading skills is learning letter names and corresponding letter sounds. This enables children to identify letters accurately and to begin to sound out simple CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant) like 'dog' or 'mat' when they are ready. One of the programs we use at school is Jolly Phonics. Children sing songs to practice letter sounds in a fun and interactive way.
